Woolworths Highgate

Woolworths Group proposed the development of a Woolworths supermarket-based shopping centre at Highgate, in the inner-northern suburbs of Perth. Location IQ assisted Woolworths Group with an initial market potential assessment as well as the preparation of an Economic Impact Assessment as part of the development application. Location IQ also attended two Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP) meetings in support of the proposal.

Woolworths Highgate received development approval at JDAP in late 2019.

The Economic Impact Assessment outlined the demand and likely impacts on surrounding facilities as a result of the proposal.

There were a number of issues to explore, including the centre hierarchy and the significant level of escape expenditure for full-line supermarkets.

Location IQ worked as part of the project team to successfully win approval for the development.

Location IQ has been part of the professional service teams that has secured development approval for a number of shopping centres across Perth in recent years, including Highgate Woolworths, Mount Pleasant Woolworths, Inglewood Woolworths and Whiteman Edge District Centre (Stockland).
